Description: Welcome to OpenAIR – the web accessibility challenge! Organized by Austin based nonprofit organization Knowbility, OpenAIR is a global web accessibility challenge that pairs participating teams of web developers and designers with registered non-profits looking to create or improve their website. OpenAIR increases awareness of tools and techniques that make the Internet accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities, by training professional web developers and designers in accessibility standards. OpenAIR then puts them to work, creating professionally designed websites for non-profit organizations.
Who are the heroes of accessibility?
The league of OpenAIR Heroes continues to wage war against The Barrier Menace, to defend their city and protect its people. After all, barriers must be beaten. But who are they?

About OpenAIR
OpenAIR is a global web accessibility awareness and skills development program. Started by Knowbility in 1998 as a local accessibility hackathon – the Accessibility Internet Rally (AIR) – the program has evolved into a global teaching and learning competition that puts accessibility front and center where it belongs.Teams of web developers sign up, learn about accessibility, are matched to an experienced accessibility mentor, and then put their skills to work building accessible web sites for nonprofits, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), charities, schools, artists and other mission-based initiatives.
