25/40 Celebration
Exhibit: Focus Forward
July 16 - August 2, 2015
Hall of Nations
This exhibit features works from previous VSA Emerging Young Artists Program winners. Each year, this program recognizes outstanding young artists with disabilities through a juried visual arts competition. The Focus Forward exhibit will include the work of 15-17 artists who represent the past 13 years of the VSA Emerging Young Artists Program. The exhibition will revisit the work of these awarded artists with the intent to reveal the program's impact, artistic ambitions, and their subsequent success.
The Exhibit is free and open to the public during open hours of the Kennedy Center.
24/40 Celebration
Two monumental milestones. One awesome celebration.
25 years ago, the Americans with Disabilities Act extended civil rights to millions of Americans. 40 years ago, the Kennedy Center’s VSA opened its doors to provide arts and education opportunities for all people with disabilities. These are indeed powerful reasons to celebrate. And so we shall!
This is the 25/40 Celebration. Join us in DC this July—the Kennedy Center and the Smithsonian are offering a one-of-a-kind, cross-campus celebration. We are filling our stages, theaters, and public spaces with outstanding, free events to honor a culture of creativity, expression, and American heritage.
