25/40 Celebration
Exhibit: Universal Design
July 16 - August 2, 2015
Eisenhower Theater Lobby
The seven principles of Universal Design strive to ensure that places, like the theaters at the Kennedy Center, are usable by the widest range of people without special adaptation or modification. Simply put, Universal Design is human-centered and welcoming to all.
The Exhibit is free and open to the public during open hours of the Kennedy Center.
24/40 Celebration
Two monumental milestones. One awesome celebration.
25 years ago, the Americans with Disabilities Act extended civil rights to millions of Americans. 40 years ago, the Kennedy Center’s VSA opened its doors to provide arts and education opportunities for all people with disabilities. These are indeed powerful reasons to celebrate. And so we shall!
This is the 25/40 Celebration. Join us in DC this July—the Kennedy Center and the Smithsonian are offering a one-of-a-kind, cross-campus celebration. We are filling our stages, theaters, and public spaces with outstanding, free events to honor a culture of creativity, expression, and American heritage.
