This 1-day training is designed to give learners a greater understanding of the concept of “program access” and the application of the accessibility standards for municipal parks and recreation facilities. The training will focus on the accessibility of outdoor recreation spaces for people with disabilities such as parks, picnic areas, sports fields, playgrounds, swimming pools, fishing facilities, bike paths, and trails. Learners will also discuss the most common barriers for existing facilities and explore options for corrective actions that can be part of an ADA Transition Plan.
