Description: This panel session will offer tools, tips, and tricks used by people with disabilities to effectively manage mobile and online experiences. The session will highlight mobile iOS apps for individuals with visual impairments, built-in accessibility features of Mac and PC platforms, tools for reading and writing. Don’t miss the expertise and user experiences that will be shared on this webinar.

Peter Berg

ADA Technical Assistance Coordinator

Peter Berg currently serves as the ADA Technical Assistance Coordinator for the Great Lakes Center. He joined the Center in October of 2000 and has since conducted trainings for a wide range of audiences, including Federal agencies, local and state governments, public and private employers and a variety of businesses. Peter has served and continues to serve on a wide range of disability related committees at the University and within the Great Lakes region. His personal experience with employment discrimination based on disability has given him a different perspective in the employment arena as both an employee with a disability and a manager of over 25 employees. He utilizes this experience and his knowledge of the ADA to work effectively with employers and employees to understand the reasonable accommodation process. In addition, Peter is a strong advocate of accessible environments and has been an active advocate for accessibility in the community where he and his family live.

Amy Perron

Assistive Technology Resource Specialist

Amy Perron is the Assistive Technology Resource Specialist for the State of Minnesota STAR Program. Prior to joining the STAR Program in March of 2016 Amy worked in corporate America. The last 7 years she worked in the IT industry in procurement and consulting with a specialization on AssistiveTechnology. Amy has worked with a broad spectrum of clients including private sector, non-profits, education and government agencies. Amy is passionate about helping people live life to the fullest and thrilled to be a part of the STAR Program. Her goal is to increase public awareness of the STAR Program and enable as many citizens as possible to benefit from its many services.

Paul Sanft

Assistive Technology (AT) Specialist

Paul Sanft is an Assistive Technology (AT) Specialist for PACER’s Simon Technology Center. He specializes in working with teens and young adults in the transition from high school to the postsecondary activities of school, career, and living independently. Paul has a background in training and supporting adults with disabilities to prepare for employment.
