ADA Shop Talk Episode 034 – My Bathroom Problem At Campus Housing
August 09, 2017   |   Organized by: ADA Shop Talk
This week we take a quick dive into a 4 dormitory complex (3 buildings 4 stories) each with multiple sleeping units with bathrooms accessed from a common use corridor. On each floor of each building, there are sleeping units with mobility features. An accessible bathroom accessed from the common corridor is provided adjacent to each mobility unit. The remainder of the sleeping units and bathrooms on each floor are not accessible.
Questions answered this episode:
Andrew – I am reviewing a new senior living facility in California consisting of three types of housing. Independent living assisted living and memory care. I think the scoping for the assisted living and memory care falls under 11B-223.3 for Long Term Care Facilities. There is no indication the independent living is public housing, so it seems it would meet the definition of covered multifamily under 11A. Do you agree?
