We are thrilled to announce Disability Rights Advocates’ Inaugural New York Gala. The event will be at the Museum of Modern Art on Thursday, October 12, 2017 and honor the work of heroes on behalf of people with disabilities. Event sponsors and guests will enjoy drinks and appetizers in the picturesque sculpture garden followed by a seated, sumptuous dinner and inspiring stage presentation—all surrounded by stunning MoMA artwork.
Because of DRA’s work in New York, the daily lives of millions of men, women and children with disabilities have been improved. Since DRA opened a New York base in 2010, the yellow taxi fleet is now on course to becoming 50% accessible; a new elevator has been installed at the Dyckman Street subway station; captioning is now used in AMC theatres across the state; a newly-implemented emergency preparedness plan will now protect disabled residents when disasters strike; and polling places have been made accessible so that everyone can vote independently.
By participating in our event, you will stand for something extraordinary.
