Diversability will be hosting its first Mapathon competition using the accessibility website/app AXS Map.
A little detail, AXS Map (pronounced access map) is like a Tripadvisor/Yelp for people with disabilities and crowdsources reviews on wheelchair accessibility, bathroom access and more for various businesses around the city.
So what is a Mapathon? It’s an event where we’ll go around and rate business’s accessibility features for future users of the app for other new users. We'll start and end at Parigot, where we'll be giving out special prizes to the top team. This event will end with a celebratory brunch at Parigot (attendees will pay for their own brunch).
How can I join?
1. Prior to the event, please create your account and sign up for the Diversability Mapathon.
2. Watch the video on how to rate businesses and see some other teams' Mapathons to get an idea of the event. They can all be found here: http://www.axsmap.com/toolkit/
People of all abilities and from all communities are invited to join.
