Drilling Down: Interpreting the 2010 ADA Standards
9:15 am - 1:15 pm CDT, March 25, 2017   |   Organized by: Great Plains ADA Center
This highly advanced training analyzes all 10 chapters of the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design (Standards) for accessibility to new and altered facilities by individuals with disabilities. The content is developed under the aegis of the United States Access Board and Department of Justice, authors of the Standards. This training examines errors, conflicts and questions raised by designers, agencies and persons with disabilities, and technical experts as a result of the Standards being used and tested in society and the legal system since 2012. Harmonization between the Federal Standards, the ANSI A117.1 and the International Building Code (IBC) are discussed, as well as the newest 2015 ANSI changes that introduced increased floor, turning and maneuvering spaces. This seminar will provide 4 CEU credit hours and lunch.
