UD and Housing 2: Design Applications (08/10/2015 - 09/06/2015)
This course provides tools and examples to help architects introduce accessibility and design for aging in place into new and existing communities without compromising aesthetic character and other design goals. The course provides resources for architects and urban designers to help them create accessible neighborhoods, blocks, lots, and homes. The course illustrates how the goals of universal design are compatible with the goals of developing livable, healthy, and sustainable neighborhoods. Examples demonstrate how universal design is possible in many different types of neighborhoods and housing forms, including traditional neighborhood and housing design.
