Description: Tune in and stay up-to-date on current events in job accommodation, including tough accommodation situations, tricky ADA issues, and technology challenges. JAN consultants provided practical tips for handling these and other job accommodation issues. Look for an overview of new JAN happenings, technology issues, ADA trends, and more!

JAN Webcasts are available at no cost. Gather your employees together in a room for live, in-service training. Educate yourself, management, and other employees on disability etiquette, assistive technologies, management techniques, and the latest on accommodations and the employment provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). All Webcasts begin at 2 pm eastern and are 1 hour. You must register to attend. One registration is equivalent to one login.

Linda Carter Batiste, J.D.

Linda Carter Batiste is a Principal Consultant with the Job Accommodation Network (JAN), a free consulting service funded by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy. She has in-depth training on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and employment law as well as accommodations related to mobility impairments, emergency evacuation, and substance abuse.

Linda leads JAN’s disability legislation initiative by providing research, evaluation, and technical expertise on a national level. She also steers JAN’s usability program for electronic, research, and outreach materials. Linda has a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from West Virginia University's College of Law and is a member of the Order of the Coif. She routinely publishes on the ADA and develops nationally disseminated training materials.

Linda has been with JAN since 1992 and is a member of JAN's Management Team. She is also a member of the West Virginia Bar and the American Bar Association; won the 2003 Patrick Duffy Koontz Award for Leadership, Citizenship, and Academic Achievement; and served as the Manuscript Editor for the Executive Board of the West Virginia Law Review. She currently serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for Thompson Publishing Group.

Beth Loy, Ph.D.

Dr. Loy is a Principal Consultant with the Job Accommodation Network (JAN), a free consulting service funded by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy. In this capacity, she leads JAN's external evaluation process and internal continuous improvement process, providing leadership to JAN's teams of service delivery and information systems. This includes JAN's outreach and education, training programs, and Website development. Beth has been with JAN since 1996 and is a member of the Management Team.

Beth is a national researcher and speaker in the disability field and has a Ph.D. in Resource Economics with a specialization in social policy. At JAN, she provides research, writing, and statistics support regarding accommodation benefits and costs and the economic impact of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Beth is a member of the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) and HTML Writers Guild. She holds certificates in Grantsmanship, Web Technologies, and Web Graphics/Multimedia.
