NCD Congressional Briefing: "Re-imagining the Social Security System for the 21st Century

Description: On Tuesday, July 28, 2015, the National Council on Disability (NCD) will convene a congressional briefing on modernizing Social Security to meet the demands of youth who are coming of age today and want to see this critical safety net become a springboard of opportunity. Two panels of witnesses, including testimony by young people with disabilities, will discuss the barriers experienced in navigating the system. We will also examine what policy measures are either underway or needed to address the persistent barriers to obtaining and advancing a career and to earn a living throughout one’s lifetime.
