Description: Join PEAT for the next edition of our virtual speaker series, PEAT Talks. This month we are pleased to welcome a panel of state accessibility CIOs to discuss Policy Driven Adoption for Accessibility (PDAA). This new approach can help achieve higher levels of accessibility in vendor-provided products and services.

PEAT Talks is a new virtual speaker series hosted by the Partnership on Employment & Accessible Technology (PEAT). Held the third Thursday of every month at 2:00 p.m. EST, this series showcases various organizations and individuals whose work and innovations are advancing accessible technology in the workplace. Featured speakers will deliver a 10- to 15- minute talk and then field questions from attendees.




Jeff Kline

The author of “Strategic IT Accessibility: Enabling the Organization.” He currently serves as Program Director, Statewide Electronic and Information Resources(EIR) at the Texas Department of Information Resources. Prior to his current position in public service, Mr. Kline managed IBM's Worldwide Accessibility Consulting and Business Transformation initiatives and other areas of product development during his 26 year IBM career including industrial design, software development, user interface design / development, and system usability.

Sarah E. Bourne

Sarah is the Director of IT Accessibility for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where she works on accessibility policy, standards, and guidance for development and procurement for internal and public systems. These efforts started with creating accessibility guidelines in 1998 as the Commonwealth’s first webmaster. She is a co-founder and organizer of the annual Boston Accessibility Conference.

Jay Wyant

Jay is Minnesota's first Chief Information Accessibility Officer, or CIAO! His role is to work with Minnesota state agencies to develop policies, procedures, and best practices so their operations and services can be accessible.
