Wednesday, April 11, 2018 12:30:00 PM CDT - 2:00:00 PM CDT
Individualized learning plans are a valuable strategy for developing learners' college and career readiness by providing access to quality career development activities and career guidance. Learn about the new guide, Promoting Quality Individualized Learning Plans throughout the Lifespan: A Revised and Updated ILP How to Guide 2.0, developed by the National Collaborative on Workforce and Disability for Youth (NCWD/Youth) and its partners at the Boston University School of Education. ILP How to Guide 2.0 provides a combination of practical career development resources and activities for implementing quality ILPs and strategies for gaining buy-in and developing capacity at the local level to facilitate the ILP process. It also provides examples of how to ensure that ILPs are implemented with quality. ILP How to Guide 2.0 expands upon the NCWD/Youth’s earlier ILP How to Guide by addressing more age groups and settings including elementary and secondary school, postsecondary education, workforce development programs and other non-school settings.
During the webinar, presenters Dr. V. Scott Solberg, Boston University, and Mindy Larson, NCWD/Youth Project Manager at the Institute for Educational Leadership, will highlight key features of the new guide and discuss how it can be useful to those working directly with learners in schools and other settings as well as those leading ILP adoption and implementation efforts at the state and local level.
This webinar is part of a series on career development topics being hosted by the National Collaborative on Workforce and Disability for Youth (NCWD/Youth) and partners at Boston University. NCWD/Youth is a national technical assistance center supported by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy and housed at the Institute for Educational Leadership.
