Providing Access to Historic Sites:
Historic Preservation and the Americans with Disabilities Act

Learn how to make historic sites accessible without compromising the integrity of their rich history.  Contrary to popular myth, historic properties must comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Let us show you how! Join us for this practical workshop where we’ll share concrete examples of how historic properties can increase accessibility and come into ADA compliance while still maintaining their historical significance.  A guided tour of the Ladies’ Library Association building including it’s accessibility renovations will be offered following the workshop.
