ReelAbilities Film Festival
September 10-13, 2015   |   Organized by: BACKBONES
Date/Time: September 10-13, 2015
Location: Chicago
Description: ReelAbilities Film Festival is the largest film festival in the United States dedicated to sharing the lives, stories and art of people with disabilities. Established in New York City in 2007, ReelAbilities has now spread to 14 cities across the US, each hosting a ReelAbilities Film Festival featuring films that inspire, challenge and unite us while celebrating our shared humanity.
BACKBONES, Chicago’s host organization, provides support for people with spinal cord injury and their families. We have partnered with ADA25 Chicago, a city-wide initiative and public awareness campaign under Chicago Community Trust, which celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The goal is to help the public recognize disability as a natural part of the human experience, and to expand equal opportunity for people with disabilities to participate fully in the civic, social and economic life of our region.
