The Viscardi Center 50th Annual Celebrity Sports Night

Description: We’re GOLDEN! We’re celebrating our 50th Celebrity Sports Night on May 19, 2016. Celebrity Sports Night is a premier fundraising event on Long Island and raises funds to enrich the lives of children and adults with disabilities. Headlining this year’s golden anniversary is New York Giants quarterback, Eli Manning and Bryant Gumbel, Host, HBO's "Real Sports".

While the evening may seem typical, it’s one-of-a-kind. During the cocktail reception, guests are provided with an opportunity to collect autographs and speak with dozens of athletes and celebrities in attendance. Guests can also strike a pose with the athletes and celebrities, even take a few selfies!

Celebrity Sports Night, being chaired by John Gutleber, President and Chief Executive Officer, Castagna Realty Co., Inc., is honoring:

• Ralph Palleschi, President and Chief Operating Officer, First Long Island Investors, LLC 
• Richard Daly, President and Chief Executive Officer, Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc.

Michael Pascucci is chairing our newly created Legends of Viscardi Emeritus Board.

Athlete and celebrity participants have also included: Joe Namath, Jack and Barbara Nicklaus, Joe Theismann, Dwight “Doc” Gooden, Bud Harrelson,  John Dockery, Bobby Nystrom, Johnny Weir, Tai Babilonia, Randy Gardner, Jim Brown, Joe Frazier, Keith Hernandez, Boomer Esiason, Willie Mays, Walt Frazier, Lou Pinella, Stephen Baker, Karl Nelson, Darryl Strawberry,  J.R. Martinez, the season 13 Dancing with the Stars Champion, and Steve Schirripa, known for his role as “Bobby Bacala” on The Sopranos, and many other sports legends and celebrities.

A silent auction featuring sports memorabilia, show tickets and more takes place during the cocktail reception. A formal sit-down dinner is followed by a live auction with several “priceless” experiences. One of the evening’s highlights is an original performance, produced by Olympic Figure Skating Champion JoJo Starbuck, featuring students of the Henry Viscardi School at The Viscardi Center with appearances by some of the attending athletes and celebrities.
