RSVP for Structured Negotiation: A Winning Alternative to Lawsuits

Imagine successfully resolving legal claims without depositions, expert battles, or runaway costs. Picture a process that offers win-win solutions, encourages relationships, empowers clients, and does not involve lawsuits. This is Structured Negotiation, the collaborative dispute resolution method described in Lainey Feingold’s new book.

Over the past 20 years, author Lainey Feingold, her co-counsel, and clients, have used Structured Negotiation to advance and protect the rights of blind people to accessible technology and information. Walmart, Major League Baseball, Bank of America and the City of San Francisco are just a few of the dozens of entities that have agreed to resolve legal claims in Strucutred Negotiation instead of battling in court.  With publication of Lainey's book by the American Bar Association, this effective process is now available to lawyers and advocates in a wide range of disciplines. Jessie Lorenz, Executive Director of the San Francisco Independent Living Resource Center, has participated in Structured Negotiations as an individual claimant and as a representative of an organizational claimant.

Join Lainey and Jessie for a lively and story-filled discussion of Structured Negotiation and its two decades of success.  Learn about the language and stages of Structured Negotiation that encourage collaboration, and hear stories of this win-win strategy that builds relationships and avoids conflict. There will be plenty of time for questions, and books will be available for purchase and signing.
