UD and Housing 1: Policy and Trends (06/01/2015 – 09/06/2015)
This course is an introduction to the basics of accessible design and building codes and standards for housing. The course provides an overview of accessible housing policies, such as the set-aside approach and adaptable housing, as well as important trends in housing policy such as visitability. Students explore the needs of aging individuals in the housing market and the importance of the neighborhood in the universal design of housing.
