Universal Design Case Studies & Accessibility Code Update

A presentation and illustration of the principals of universal design as applied in case studies of inclusive and inspirational facilities. Understanding ergonomics and the impact of design solutions on the functionality and improvement in the quality of life for people with a wide variety of abilities, as well as the benefits of mainstreaming universal design will be discussed. Course will also feature an update of the key technical accessibility requirements of the 2013 CBC and 2010 ADA Standards.
TIME: Afternoon Class - Class begins at 11 am and runs until approximately 4:30 pm (lunch/snack break from 1:00 to 1:30 pm)
COST: AIA Members, $100 (+svc fee) Non-members $150 (+svc fee)
Please register early, space is limited.
Parking: Limited on-street parking.
For the 5 hour courses: beverages and continental breakfast or snack will be served. Seminars will break for a half-hour lunch/snack.
Attendees may bring a brown-bag lunch and stay on-site, or leave and return.
