You Should See What They’re Saying: More AAC Talking with Data Logging

3:30 pm - 4:30 pm EDT, April 16, 2019   |   Organized by: Assistive Technology Industry Association (ATIA)

Description

Webinar Type: Live Broadcast
Webinar Code: AT19-WEB06-LB
Webinar Fee: $39

It’s daunting to get everyone not just trained, but really using AAC systems to model and teach language. Many devices have built-in data logging, so it is easier than ever to see what is being said on speech generating devices to monitor progress, tweak goals and determine staff training needs. How do you use that data once you see it? Meet four communicators using different speech generating devices at home, school, an ABA center and the community and see how their individual data helps guides instruction and gets everyone fired up for communication!

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will be able to describe data logging and list at least 5 speech generating devices/apps that have this feature.

  2. Participants will be able to name 4 elements of data logging and tell how unique information can be used to set goals and drive instruction.

  3. Participants will be able to list 3 strategies supported by data logging that can help team members work together to increase communication with a speech generating device.
