49 CFR Part 37 - Transportation for Individuals With Disabilities; Reasonable Modification of Policies and Practices
7. Medicine.
A passenger's request to take medication while aboard a fixed route or paratransit vehicle or in a transit facility should be granted. For example, transit agencies should modify their policies to allow individuals to administer insulin injections and conduct finger stick blood glucose testing. Transit staff need not provide medical assistance, however, as this would be a fundamental alteration of their function.
