5. WAIVERS.

Any other deviation from these DoD Standards shall be made only through the waiver or modification process. Requests for waivers or modifications are to be forwarded through the chain of command for approval by the Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness), who represents DoD on the United States Access Board. Waivers and modifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis and granted only if the waiver or modification is clearly necessary.
