As with most states, Illinois has a specific definition of what ‘assisted living’ is. It is important to note that in Illinois, the terms “supportive living” and “assisted living” are essentially synonymous. The State of Illinois most often uses the term ‘Supportive Living’ as with many facilities However, for marketing purposes, and for familiarity, many facilities will use the term ‘assisted living’ or a combination of ‘assisted living’ and ‘supportive living.’
