When we create a page, or section for our site, we always think about what information we would like to see if we were researching care for one of our own family members (something that we have experienced). I would want to see facility information, of course, but I would also like to learn about state and local resources that are available.

Additionally, I’d like to be able to contact facilities directly – something that many senior sites amazingly don’t allow.

New Hampshire, as with many states, can present challenges for families looking for senior care for a loved-one. Although there are a handful of larger cities, like Concord – there are many more smaller towns, rural communities, and farming areas that might not offer as many services as are needed for seniors living in those areas. Elderly residents in these areas may be forced, due to lack of choices, to a larger city to find care.

However, there are excellent local places to find assistance, and possibly solutions to any aging issue regardless of where you live in New Hampshire. Each county, and area is covered by an local Area Agency on Aging, which exists to help seniors and elderly residents (and their families and caregivers) to find the services and support they need, and to work toward keeping them at home, or finding suitable care based on their needs. Agencies on Aging came about from the passing of the Older American’s Act of 1965.
