As defined by the Virginia Dept. of Social Services, Assisted Living Facilities are non-medical residential settings.These “ALF’s” provide or coordinate personal services, as well as health care services – all with 24-hour supervision. Facilities must provide care for 4 or more adults who are “aged, infirm, or disabled” in one or more locations.

The Alzheimer’s Association has three chapters that operate in Virginia – including one for the National Capital area.
