Danielle’s Story
Danielle’s Foundation was created to honor the memory of Danielle Vick, who sadly passed away in 2008 from complications of anoxic brain injury.
While Danielle’s life was short, it was also incredibly inspirational. When Danielle’s mother, Florence, was exposed to the world of special needs children—a world in which therapies and benefits are too often just out of reach, too expensive, or turned down by insurance companies—she realized the importance of becoming an advocate for her child. Please read more about Danielle’s Story here.
Apply for a grant today!
To honor her memory, this Foundation was started for families to obtain a grant that can be used towards therapies, equipment, and other benefits. Our grant period runs every quarter (90 days) and the 2 page application is very simple to fill out. You will be contacted by one of our volunteers for a short conversation regarding your child and their needs. We understand hectic schedules and respect your time, so we try and keep the conversations short and always when it is convenient for the parents or caregivers. At the end of each quarter the Board of Directors meet and make a selection, and this process takes approximately a month. We have been thrilled that we have been able to give more than one grant each quarter! The families are notified by phone and then a public announcement is made on our Facebook page.
