The visibility of FCE and Post-Offer employment tests in the federal court system continues to grow. Consequently, so does the need for high-level job analysis to identify the physical demands tied to the essential functions of incumbent jobs. Old-school methods of job analysis do not fit today’s demand for reports that include both essential function statements and specific measurement of the demands associated with the essential functions. Our former use of Department of Labor physical demand characteristics of work such as Sedentary, Light, Heavy and Very Heavy no longer serves the requirement for more specific, job-related descriptions. This course will deliver the knowledge you need to move into today’s ADA Title I world.
How this information used: a doctor’s opinion about return to work under ADA Title I, discussion of a difficult reasonable accommodation solution, and planning a post-offer employment test are each facilitated by an accurate and up-to-date essential function job analysis.
