The Independent Living Center of Southeast Missouri (ILCSEMO) is a community-based, nonprofit, nonresidential facility committed to serving the needs of individuals with any type of disability, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or religion. ILCSEMO primarily serves the Southeast Missouri counties of Butler, Carter, Ripley and Wayne.
ILCSEMO offers various services to persons with disabilities with the goal of active participation in society focusing on the ABILITY of the person rather than the disability. ILCSEMO is consumer driven meaning the consumer decides his or her plan. Independent Living Centers offer five core services upon which all of the programs are based. These five core services are:

Mission Statement
To make Southeast Missouri barrier free for all persons with disabilities, enabling them to live more independently, extending their rights to control and direct their own lives and empowering them to live more productive lives. To this end, we do not do things for the persons with disabilities; we enable them to do for themselves.
