Rebuilding Together is the nation’s leading nonprofit working to preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize communities. Our network of 166 affiliates provides rehabilitation and critical repairs to the homes of low-income Americans at no cost.
Rebuilding Together Dayton, formerly known as Christmas in April, was founded in 1996. Since its inception, Rebuilding Together Dayton has been able to impact over 1,500 homeowners in our community thanks to the support of our sponsors and volunteers.
We provide home repairs at no cost for low-income, elderly homeowners living in Montgomery County, with a preference to those in their homes for a minimum of 10 years. We also provide urgently needed safety updates, such as wheelchair ramps, grab bars, and hand-rails, by skilled tradespeople. We work with volunteer groups throughout the year to complete small projects for low-income elderly homeowners or in low-income neighborhoods.
Mission Statement: Building community partnerships and providing home rehabilitation for low-income Dayton area homeowners, particularly the elderly, so they may live in warmth, safety and independence.
