Repairing homes and restoring hope, Rebuilding Together impacts the lives of hundreds of Houstonians each year. We are committed—on behalf of our aging clientele—to the proposition that there is no place like home.
In Houston, Rebuilding Together provides free repair and renovation programs for elderly low-income, disabled and service-veteran homeowners in need. Our programs address basic living, life event and quality-of-life circumstances. The work we’ve done since 1982 creates safer and healthier environments, and makes it possible for people to live in their own homes independently and for longer periods of time.
Nationwide, Rebuilding Together’s network of nearly 200 non-profit affiliates brings together more than 100,000 volunteers and completes nearly 10,000 projects on an annual basis.
In 2014, Rebuilding Together supportered nearly 400 home-repair projects in the Houston area. In doing so, we more than doubled the value of every dollar donated and reinvested in more than $4.7 million of affordable local housing.
Through the work of volunteer groups and skilled craftspeople, and the financial support of individual donors, local businesses and corporate partners, Rebuilding Together makes life better for hundreds of Houstonians each year and positively impacts the communities in which they live. We help shape a brighter future for our city and make it a better place to call home.
