The DC Center for Independent Living, Inc. (DCCIL) is a nonprofit, community based, cross disability organization serving all citizens with disabilities of the District of Columbia.
Serving the District of Columbia since 1981, DCCIL was established through Congressional Legislation and is one of 400 Centers for Independent Living (CILs) nationwide assisting people with significant disabilities to live independently in their homes and their communities.
Our Mission
DCCIL’s mission is to eliminate architectural, communication and attitudinal barriers that prevent people with disabilities from living fully-engaged and self-directed lives.
