Who We Are
VisionServe Alliance is a consortium of Executive Directors/CEOs of 501(c)(3) nonprofits throughout the United States that provide unique and specialized services to people who are blind or with severe vision loss. We bring together the full diversity of services for one conversation with the ultimate goal of unifying the many issues and organizations operating independently of one another in the field. Members include organizations focusing on national advocacy and/or service issues, employment and manufacturing, adult vision rehabilitation, K-12 residential and on-line schools, early intervention and pre-school, dog guides, low vision clinics, and Braille production. Collaborative projects, national trends, stronger management and leadership, and advocacy issues have been born from these conversations and activities.
Our Mission is to engage leaders in building a better world through services for people with vision loss.
Our Vision is to be a leader and the unifying voice in the field of services for people with vision loss for advocacy, education, ethical management, professional growth, and enhanced services.
Our Purpose is to build and nurture a diverse core of future and current leaders with a healthy and vibrant network of private nonprofit organizations throughout the United States whose commitment is to enrich the lives of those living with vision loss and to remove the barriers to the pursuit of opportunities.
Our Values include:
-
High Quality Practices – Members believe that organizations serving people with vision loss will adhere to the highest standards of ethical practice and effectiveness in governance, fiduciary responsibility, self-regulations, and financial accountability.

What We Do
VisionServe Alliance’s mission is to engage leaders in building a better world through services to people with vision loss by promoting leadership development, ethical management, quality services, and professional growth. We envision a future as leaders and a unified resource in the field for advocacy, education, ethical management, professional growth and enhanced services.
Specifically, we LINK leaders in our field through Learning, Innovation, Networking, Knowledge and Sharing (LINKS)by providing:
-
Support and encouragement in the delivery of quality services to people of all ages who are blind or visually impaired.
-
A communication channel to members for sharing information and addressing issues regarding services, leadership, and management.
-
Opportunities for collaboration and cooperation among organizations, associations and entities who serve people who are blind or visually impaired.
-
A forum for chief executive officers to collect data, share information and to update executive level skills for the purpose of improving services provided by the private not-for-profit organizations they lead. We believe implicitly that strong leaders make for strong organizations.
-
Opportunities to advocate and influence public policy.
We do this through two executive learning experiences (conferences) annually, informative newsletters, specialized work groups, open communications, strong member benefits that save $$$$’s, a member portal on our web-site with information and data, and organizational/board consultation services.
