Today, May 9, 2016, the Department of Justice published its Supplemental Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking titled Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Disability; Accessibility of Web Information and Services of State and Local Government Entities (SANPRM) in the Federal Register. Accordingly, the public comment period for the SANPRM is now open. The public comment period will close on August 8, 2016.

Public comments on the SANPRM may be submitted via any of the following: (1) www.regulations.gov; (2) regular mail to Disability Rights Section, Civil Rights Division, U.S. Department of Justice, P.O. Box 2885, Fairfax, VA 22031–0885; or (3) overnight mail, courier, or hand delivery to Disability Rights Section, Civil Rights Division, U.S. Department of Justice, 1425 New York Avenue, N.W., Suite 4039, Washington, D.C. 20005. The Department encourages and looks forward to public comment on the SANPRM.
