Researched in cooperation with AT&T, the Global Initiative for Inclusive Information and Communication Technologies (G3ict) recently released a white paper detailing the positive impact of the "Internet of Things" (IoT) on persons with disabilities. According to G3ict: "The Internet of Things opens new opportunities for persons with disabilities and seniors, giving them an unprecedented control on their environment. Home automation already provides tools for more independent living, and new applications appear on the market for health care, transportation, education and employment. In the years to come, standardization, security and privacy will have to be addressed by industry, government and users."
