LSU Students with Disabilities Speak Out about Game Day Barriers
Published: November 24, 2015 at 2:11AM
According to a recent article in The Daily Reveille, LSU students with mobility disabilities are speaking out about the Athletic Departments' policies on game days. In the report, students state not only are some of the accessible parking spaces taken (and temporary spots relocated further away), but also the temporary guardrails erected to direct traffic are blocking accessible routes needed for wheelchairs and scooters. The students cite noncompliance with sections 12101(a)(1) of the ADA and 208.3.1 of the 2010 ADA Standards.
