When a sidewalk slopes more than 2% in the direction of travel and a walk with a maximum 2% cross slope intersects it, which transition segment type provides the safest usability for the greatest number of people with disabilities?  (See attached diagrams.)

A - Clearly inaccessible transition

B - Sloped triangular planes forming a transition with a diagonal valley

C - Warped transition

D - Warped transition with a wider, flared connection at the sidewalk

E - Leveled section of sidewalk (where possible)

Please leave us your comments with your preferences in order by letter.

I use a lightweight manual chair and have good upper extremity strength and trunk control. My preferences are:

E - gives the safest spot for me to stop and make a turn.
