The San Francisco Board of Supervisors have passed Ordinance 51-16, focusing on providing accessible business entrances to enable persons with disabilities to gain greater physical access to the goods and services offered throughout the City, and help owners to better comply with their obligations under the federal and state statutes.
This ordinance will require places of public accommodation to have primary entrances be accessible by persons with disabilities. It is the intent of this ordinance to make entrances to businesses in San Francisco useable by persons with disabilities whenever possible and to do so with the least possible disruption in these businesses.
