Accessibility Management Platform (AMP) Digital Accessibility Tool by SSB BART Group
Product Description
AMP - The Digital Accessibility Tool from SSB BART Group
What is AMP?
AMP stands for SSB BART Group's Accessibility Management Platform. AMP is a web-based platform that provides a scalable, turnkey solution for meeting your Section 508, Americans with Disabilities (ADA), Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and other compliance needs. AMP provides the infrastructure to facilitate all aspects of a successful accessibility compliance program. With AMP, audits are performed and results are viewed in one central location, which also contains development best practices and compliant code examples for each type of violation.
What is involved in the accessibility testing process?
One guiding principle for accessibility testing is that anything that can be automated, should be automated. It greatly reduces cost when a system is in place to limit the amount of time that human testers need to spend manually reviewing content or code.
That being said, there are still many aspects of the process that cannot be tested without human interaction and input, for instance:
-
Tools can test for the presence of alternative image text but not if the text is a meaningful replacement
-
Tools can test for the presence of form field labels but not if assistive technology users can fill out a form
Over half of the accessibility issues that are tracked in AMP, like these examples, are things that automated tools are not capable of checking. This is where our expert staff comes into the picture and provides thorough manual testing at the code level and to provide feedback and help with accessible development.
