Product Description
Strong design enables the IS.14 Lift & Slide to endure rigorous hurricane and large missile impact testing standards, including systems of up to 5′ wide and 12′ tall.
Features
The IS.14 system is custom made to order with a large variety of options available.
-
System Overview: Designed to comply with stringent Florida Building Codes TAS 201; TAS 202; and TAS 203; and U.S. building regulations from wind-borne debris areas outside the high velocity hurricane zone (HVHZ), the IS.14 Lift & Slide features superior components that can endure large missile and hurricane impact. These hurricane sliding patio doors permit oversized panels to withstand Category 5 Hurricanes, tropical storms, high winds and driving rain, while standing up to coastal pressures such as corrosion, humidity and salt.
-
Testing simulations made on the (IS.14) IMPACT system by a third party company resulted in outstanding results with structural loads at 100 psf, water infiltration at 20 psf, and air infiltration at 1.57 psf for a large 5′ x 10’ system and even larger 5′ x 12’ model. With these results, Panda becomes the only manufacturer in the industry with the ability to craft large-sized panels while providing ultimate performance and weather protection.
-
Maximum Panel Height: Up to 14 feet or up to 20 feet with a true divider.
-
Maximum Panel Width: Up to 5 feet.
-
Panel Weight: Approximately 7 to 8 lbs/sqft depending on overall panel size.
-
Number of Panels: Countless panel groups can be built.
-
Profiles: Manufactured from 6063-T5 extruded aluminum with a profile thickness of 3 9/16″ allowing for oversized panels. The interior wood is uniquely cladded to the profiles by durable polyamide clips which create a thermal barrier for better UV and SFGC performance.
-
Rail & Stiles: Narrow 4 1/2” stile and rail profiles for maximum view and minimal obstruction.
-
System Configurations Available: Hurricane sliding patio doors can pocket to left or right, and can stack to left and/or right. Straight, 45° and 90° zero-post corner configurations are available.
-
Glazing: Laminated impact resistant glass, either ½” monolithic or 1 3/8” double insulating glass. Optional integrated blinds are available.
-
Weather-stripping: The entire door system has specially designed EPDM V-type gaskets and dense felt brushes to create a totally closed weather sealed system.
Bottom Track Options
All weight is carried on the bottom track, the top track serves as a guide.
Trench Depth: Min. 2 1/2″
-
ADA Compliant Standard Track. Recessed into sub-floor to ensure the smoothest possible operation. The finished floor is laid in between tracks leaving only a 3/16″ rail exposed. A virtually unobstructed threshold from the interior to the exterior area for a “barefoot” friendly passage.
-
ADA Compliant Track with drainage. In addition to the above features, this track has a weep channel for increased security against water infiltration. Panda holds a patent for the drainage technology used in this track.
Trench Depth: Min. 1 1/4″
-
ADA Compliant 1 1/4″ in track. Recessed into sub-floor to ensure the smoothest possible operation, this track features a shallower recess than the two tracks mentioned above and is leveled with stack shims instead of all-threads. The finished floor is laid in between tracks leaving only a 3/16″ rail exposed. A virtually unobstructed threshold from the interior to the exterior area for a “barefoot” friendly passage.
-
ADA Compliant 1 1/4″ in track with drainage. In addition to the features mentioned for the previous track, this one has a weep channel for increased security against water infiltration. Panda holds a patent for the drainage technology used in this track.
Trench Depth: Mounts on floor
-
ADA Compliant Surface Track. It is used in situations where recessing is not possible. This low 3/16″ track mounts directly to the finished floor. For best operation, floor must be smooth and level.
Header Track
-
The header track features adjustable shims from 1/2 ″ to 1″ depending on type of bottom track and finished floor thickness.
-
The header track widths are 4″ for one panel, 7″ for two panels, 10″ for three panels, and 13″ for four panels approximately. Trench width should be taken into account when planning rough header construction.

We strive to make our colors as accurate as possible, but screen images are intended as a guide only and should not be regarded as absolutely correct.

Wood Options
Part of the beauty and character of real wood are the variations each piece has in their heartwood, color, density, size and grain pattern. For this reason we cannot guarantee consistency in wood grain and color within a particular species. Selections should be made based on actual samples.
We offer a broad range of domestic and imported wood species to match the interior and exterior elements of your space such as flooring, cabinetry, decks, terraces, millwork, and your décor in general . We work with suppliers who offer lumber from regions of the world that are capable of producing the quality wood our customers demand.
-
Standard Wood Species - Our standard wood species include Pine and Poplar at no additional cost.
-
Premium Wood Species - For a higher degree of distinction and customization, we offer the following additional distinctive wood varieties and will try to source any other wood species that meets our production standards and your design demands. Just send us a sample and we’ll match it.
These species may add additional lead time to your order depending on availability of materials. Additional charges may apply depending on the wood species, call us for details and pricing.

Wood Finishes - Unless otherwise requested, all of our wood products are delivered unfinished. Raw products have not been sealed and therefore must be sealed immediately upon receipt. Sealing the windows/doors with equal coats of finish on both sides and all edges within one week from delivery is necessary to minimize moisture absorption. You must completely seal and finish all surfaces of your product before installation. Unsealed and unfinished products must be stored in a warm and dry moisture free environment as they would most likely crack and warp if exposed to the elements.
Stains or basecoats are available as options. We can customize a finish to meet your design needs. Please contact us for further details.
-
FSC Certified Wood - An FSC® certification is the best indicator that the wood used to make your door was harvested sustainably. This means that the wood product comes from a forest that’s managed responsibly which involves protecting fragile ecosystems, respecting native cultures and economies, preventing illegal logging, and ensuring that the wood in the product truly came from a forest that was certified.
Contact us today to discuss which FSC® certified wood is right for your project.
-
Color Disclaimer - Wood is a product of nature and will vary in color, texture and grain, often ranging from light to dark, thereby affecting the surface look. The wood options shown above are a close approximation of the final look of the wood, however, the photos may vary from the actual wood due to reproduction limitations of photography and different website resolutions.
