Product Description
With the Aluminum Wood Clad Folding Door System, you get the reduced maintenance of an aluminum clad finish, plus the aesthetic appeal and warmth of wood in a modern application.
The aluminum is bent and folded over the exterior of the door to prevent weather from penetrating into the wood frame. The aluminum clad exterior can match virtually any exterior color scheme.
Features
-
Th S.74 folding door system is custom made to order with a large variety of options available.
-
System Overview: Consists of extruded aluminum frames cladded with nearly limitless options for types of wood. This system keeps a weather tight seal when closed, but when open maximizes the opening by over 90%.
-
Maximum Panel Height: Up to 120″ and up to 144″ with a true divider.
-
Maximum Panel Width: Up to 42″.
-
Panel Weight: Approximately 6 to 8 lbs/sqft changing with the height and width of the panels.
-
Panel Capacity: The stainless steel carrier hinges are rated up to 300 lbs. per panel. The sealed bearing rollers allow for effortless operation even on the largest sizes.
-
Number of Panels: Countless panel groups can be built. They slide along the tracks and are connected with special joints and seals.
-
Profiles: Made of extruded aluminum outside and wood-clad inside. Cladding is attached to aluminum using specially designed clips that allow easy access to glazing for repairs, and also allows the cladding to be changed. Profile thickness is 2 9/16″.
-
System Configurations Available: There are 26 operational door typologies and when in the open position they maximize 90% of the total rough opening. 90 degree corner is an option. Swing doors may be integrated to provide an access point without having to move more than one panel.
-
Running: Operates with either top hung or bottom running carriages along a single inline track.
-
Folding: Inswing or Outswing.
-
Glazing: Clear Low-E insulated is the standard. Various types of glass and other materials at a thickness of up to 1″ may be used. The glass is shimmed by means of accessories located in the corners of the doors and is externally adjustable at any time.
-
Adjustments: Both sides of the frame are made up of 2 profiles, both of which have regulation points easily accessible from the outside, allowing for better installation and recovery due to seasonal temperature changes. Once door heights are set and locked, the mechanism will not self-adjust or loosen over time. Further head adjustments can be made at any time with a screwdriver.
Accessories
-
Magnetic gaskets are used to ensure a weather-tight seal every time. Their extra thickness running up and down the edge of the panels are padded to ensure no fingers are left behind.
-
The multi-point locks engage into the top and bottom tracks for increased security.
-
The stainless steel screws and bolts, highly weather resistant synthetic wheels and rollers, and the EPDM gaskets have been exclusively designed for this door system.
Bottom Tracks
-
ADA compliant stainless steel recessed track. This track flush with the finished floor for a “barefoot” friendly area and a seamless transition from the interior to the exterior. It is good for use in openings where weather infiltration is not a concern, and in pass-through window configurations.
-
Bottom guided for in-swing configurations.
-
Bottom guided for out-swing configurations.

Wood Options
Part of the beauty and character of real wood are the variations each piece has in their heartwood, color, density, size and grain pattern. For this reason we cannot guarantee consistency in wood grain and color within a particular species. Selections should be made based on actual samples.
We offer a broad range of domestic and imported wood species to match the interior and exterior elements of your space such as flooring, cabinetry, decks, terraces, millwork, and your décor in general . We work with suppliers who offer lumber from regions of the world that are capable of producing the quality wood our customers demand.
Standard Wood Species
Our standard wood species include Pine and Poplar at no additional cost.
Premium Wood Species
For a higher degree of distinction and customization, we offer the following additional distinctive wood varieties and will try to source any other wood species that meets our production standards and your design demands. Just send us a sample and we’ll match it.
These species may add additional lead time to your order depending on availability of materials. Additional charges may apply depending on the wood species, call us for details and pricing.

Wood finishes
Unless otherwise requested, all of our wood products are delivered unfinished. Raw products have not been sealed and therefore must be sealed immediately upon receipt. Sealing the windows/doors with equal coats of finish on both sides and all edges within one week from delivery is necessary to minimize moisture absorption. You must completely seal and finish all surfaces of your product before installation. Unsealed and unfinished products must be stored in a warm and dry moisture free environment as they would most likely crack and warp if exposed to the elements.
Stains or basecoats are available as options. We can customize a finish to meet your design needs. Please contact us for further details.
FSC Certified Wood
An FSC® certification is the best indicator that the wood used to make your door was harvested sustainably. This means that the wood product comes from a forest that’s managed responsibly which involves protecting fragile ecosystems, respecting native cultures and economies, preventing illegal logging, and ensuring that the wood in the product truly came from a forest that was certified.
Contact us today to discuss which FSC® certified wood is right for your project.
Color Disclaimer
Wood is a product of nature and will vary in color, texture and grain, often ranging from light to dark, thereby affecting the surface look. The wood options shown above are a close approximation of the final look of the wood, however, the photos may vary from the actual wood due to reproduction limitations of photography and different website resolutions.
