Product Description
For harsher environments with extreme temperatures, Panda offers the Thermally Broken ULTRA Folding Door System, which features a thermal break technology on both frame and panels. It uses cutting-edge aluminum extrusions with a polyamide (material with low thermal conductivity) bar to connect the frame together while reducing heat or cold transfer.
This protective barrier lowers u-factors, limits condensation, increases energy performance and, most of all, reduces thermal conductivity.
Features
The UTS.60 folding door system is custom made to order with a large variety of options available.
-
System Overview: This system contains 15/16″polyamide thermal break bars. The top track, bottom track and side profiles form a closed frame. Together with the doors, having aluminum rebates and gaskets, all act in compression.
-
Maximum Panel Height: Up to 120″ and up to 144″ with a true divider.
-
Maximum Panel Width: Up to 42″.
-
Panel Weight: Approximately 6 to 8 lbs/sqft changing with the height and width of the panels.
-
Panel Capacity: The stainless steel carrier hinges are rated up to 450 lbs. per panel. The sealed bearing rollers allow for effortless operation even on the largest sizes.
-
Number of Panels: Countless panel groups can be built. They slide along the tracks and are connected with special joints and seals.
-
Profiles: Made of extruded aluminum with special ribs that ensure maximum hardness. Profile thickness is 2 3/8″.
-
System Configurations Available: There are 26 operational door typologies and when in the open position they maximize 90% of the total rough opening. 90 degree corner is an option. Swing doors may be integrated to provide an access point without having to move more than one panel.
-
Running: Operates with either top hung or bottom running carriages along a single inline track.
-
Folding: Inswing or Outswing.
-
Glazing: Clear Low-E insulated is the standard. Various types of glass and other materials at a thickness of up to 1 1/8″ may be used. The glass is shimmed by means of accessories located in the corners of the doors and is externally adjustable at any time.
-
Adjustments: Both sides of the frame are made up of 2 profiles, both of which have regulation points easily accessible from the outside, allowing for better installation and recovery due to seasonal temperature changes. Once door heights are set and locked, the mechanism will not self-adjust or loosen over time. Further head adjustments can be made at any time with a screwdriver.
Accessories
-
Magnetic gaskets are used to ensure a weather-tight seal every time. Their extra thickness running up and down the edge of the panels are padded to ensure no fingers are left behind.
-
The multi-point locks engage into the top and bottom tracks for increased security.
-
Wheel carriages have stainless steel sealed ball bearings with four delrin fiber reinforced laminated double sliding rollers, exclusively designed handles with ergonomic grips, stainless steel screws and pins, special hinge channels that keep the hinges in place, and 10mm hinge pins double gasketed on both sides of the panels.
Track Options
-
The standard track is top hung/bottom guided and mounts directly to sub-floor to ensure the smoothest possible operation. Each set of quad rollers are capable of carrying 450 lbs and its adjustable header is 3/4″. This track has the best resistance to weather infiltration.
-
The top running recessed track relieves stress on bottom track by distributing heavy panel weight to header. An optional drainage line could be installed.
-
ADA compliant dual running recessed track is also an option. This track flush with the finished floor for a “barefoot” friendly area and a seamless transition from the interior to the exterior. It is good for use in openings where weather infiltration is a concern, and in pass-through window configurations. An optional drainage line could be installed.
