Product Description
Modifying vertical rises at door thresholds often requires more than just a ramp, it requires a level-landing, otherwise known as maneuverable clearance area, a firm and stable level surface area in front of the door using specific dimensions. This is required by federal law and by local access and building codes. Without a level-landing or a maneuverable clearance area, a person in a wheelchair would otherwise roll backwards as they attempt to reach for the door hardware.
In some instances not only is there a rise at the threshold but a cross slope that prevents the use of a standard level landing, so we created the VulcanLanding™ . The VulcanLanding™ named after the recognizable hand sign from Star Trek has a unique configuration and look. It was developed for ADA and access compliance for situations at thresholds, doorways and entrances that require a maneuverable clearance area where the existing conditions have a greater cross slope than allowed. The VulcanLanding™ can pick up several degrees of slope coming out from the front of an entrance or doorway where traditional landing products cannot.
The VulcanLanding™ is made of complex angels using engineered recycled rubber material to make an otherwise non-complaint door compliant. Starting at ½” high these landings can make compliance easy, affordable and quick.
SafePath’s ™ landing systems are sustainable, solid, soundless and are available in hundreds of configurations and colors.
