Video Remote Interpreting, VRI, uses internet video connections to access sign language interpreting services without an in-person interpreter on site. SignOn provides this service in the United States and Canada.
Video Interpreting can be used in a variety of situations:
- Staff meetings
- Medical - routine medical appointments, counseling, pediatrics
- Employment - interviews, training sessions, staff meetings
- Education
- Legal - court room, intakes, police, probation, juvenile, attorney-client
- Government - federal, state and local
- Social Services
Instead of having an interpreter physically present with the deaf and hearing parties, the interpreter is located at SignOn’s offices and facilitates communication remotely, saving the cost of mileage, travel time, and two-hour minimums. Use your own video device or choose from a selection of SignOn tested and approved video/audio equipment.
