Alexander Deussen Park Senior Center, 12303 Sonnier Street, Houston, TX

  • Parking: The surface slope in the designated accessible parking space and access aisle is not level in all directions and exceeds the maximum slope allowed of 1:48 (1991 ADA Stds 4.6.3; 2010 ADA Stds 502.4).

  • Parking & Sidewalk & Walkways: The parking lots and the walkways to the entrance contain gravel, a manhole cover, and grass and do not provide stable, firm, and slip resistant surfaces (1991 ADA Stds 4.5.1; 2010 ADA Stds 302.1, 502.4).

  • Drop-off: The surface slope in the vehicle pull-up space is not level in all directions and exceeds the maximum slope allowed of 1:48 (1991 ADA Stds 4.6.6; ADA Stds 503.4).

  • Sidewalks & Walkways: The designated accessible routes to the entrance have surface openings greater than 1/2 inch (1991 ADA Stds 4.3.6, 4.5.4; 2010 ADA Stds 403.2, 302.3).

  • Sidewalks & Walkways: The pedestrian route contains a handrail extension that protrudes more than 4 inches into the route and the bottom of the object is more than 27 inches above the floor (1991 ADA Stds 4.1.2(3), 4.4.1; 2010 ADA Stds 307.2).

  • Sidewalks & Walkways: The cross slope in the designated accessible route exceeds the maximum slope allowed of 1:48 (1991 ADA Stds 4.3.7; 2010 ADA Stds 403.3).

  • Building Entrance: The raised threshold at the exterior entrance exceeds 1/2 inch (5 inches) (1991 ADA Stds 4.13.8; 2010 ADA Stds 404.2.5).

  • Sidewalks & Walkways: The ramp on the route to the building has a vertical drop-off on at least one side and no edge protection is provided (1991 ADA Stds 4.8.7; 2010 ADA Stds 405.9).

Alice McKean Young Library, 5107 Griggs Road, Houston, TX

  • Parking: The surface slope in the designated accessible parking space is not level in all directions and exceeds the maximum slope allowed of 1:48 (1991 ADA Stds 4.6.3; 2010 ADA Stds 502.4).

  • Sidewalks & Walkways: The designated accessible route from the parking to the building entrance is not at least 36 inches wide (28 C.F.R. § 35.133; 1991 ADA Stds 4.3.3; 2010 ADA Stds 403.5.1).

  • Sidewalks & Walkways: The cross slope in the designated accessible route exceeds the maximum slope allowed of 1:48 (1991 ADA Stds 4.3.7; 2010 ADA Stds 403.3).

Galena Park Library, 1500 Keene Street, Galena Park, TX

  • Parking: The designated accessible van space does not include an access aisle that is at least 96 inches wide (1991 ADA Stds 4.1.2(5)(b), 4.6.3, Fig. 9; 2010 ADA Stds 502).

  • Parking: The designated van accessible parking space was not located on the shortest accessible route to the accessible entrance (1991 ADA Stds 4.6.2; 2010 ADA Stds 208.3.1).

  • Drop-off: The surface slope in the vehicle pull-up space and access aisle is not level in all directions and exceeds the maximum slope allowed of 1:48 (1991 ADA Stds 4.6.6; ADA Stds 503.4).

  • Drop-off: There is no accessible route from the vehicle pull-up space to the entrance as there is no curb ramp provided from the vehicle pull-up space and access aisle to the sidewalk and route to the entrance (1991 ADA Stds 4.6.6, 4.7.1, 4.3.2; 2010 ADA Stds 206.2.1, 402.2, 503.3).

  • Sidewalks & Walkways: The accessible route from the parking lot to the entrance is not free of abrupt level changes over 1/2 inch (1991 ADA Stds 4.3.8, 4.5.2; 2010 ADA Stds 303, 403.4).

Hardy Street Senior Citizens Center, 11901 West Hardy, Houston, TX

  • Parking: The surface slope in the designated accessible parking space and access aisle is not level in all directions and exceeds the maximum slope allowed of 1:48 (1991 ADA Stds 4.6.3; 2010 ADA Stds 502.4).

  • Parking & Sidewalk & Walkways: The parking lot and the walkway to the entrance contain gravel and do not provide stable, firm, and slip resistant surfaces (1991 ADA Stds 4.5.1; 2010 ADA Stds 302.1, 502.4).

  • Drop-off: The surface slope in the vehicle pull-up space and access aisle is not level in all directions and exceeds the maximum slope allowed of 1:48 (1991 ADA Stds 4.6.6; ADA Stds 503.4).

  • Sidewalks & Walkways: The accessible routes from the parking lot and public sidewalk to the entrance are not free of abrupt level changes over 1/2 inch (1991 ADA Stds 4.3.8, 4.5.2; 2010 ADA Stds 303, 403.4).

  • Sidewalks & Walkways: The cross slope on the exit ramp from the voting area exceeds the maximum slope allowed of 1:48 (1991 ADA Stds 4.8.6; 2010 ADA Stds 405.3).

  • Sidewalks & Walkways: The ramps along the designated accessible route from parking and the public sidewalk to the entrance do not have level landings at the top of the ramps (1991 ADA Stds 4.8.4; 2010 ADA Stds 405.7).

  • Sidewalks & Walkways: The exit ramp along the designated accessible route does not have a level landing at the top and bottom of the ramp that are at least 60 inches long (1991 ADA Stds 4.8.4; 2010 ADA Stds 405.7).

  • Sidewalks & Walkways: The ramp on the designated accessible route from the public sidewalk to the entrance does not include handrails on each side of the ramp (1991 ADA Stds 4.8.5; 2010 ADA Stds 405.8, 505.2).

  • Sidewalks & Walkways: The ramp on the route from the public sidewalk to the building and the exit ramp have vertical drop-offs on at least one side and no edge protection is provided (1991 ADA Stds 4.8.7; 2010 ADA Stds 405.9).

Harris County Courthouse Annex 14 SE, 5737 Cullen Boulevard, Houston, TX

  • Parking: The surface slope in the access aisle of the designated accessible parking space is not level in all directions and exceeds the maximum slope allowed of 1:48 (1991 ADA Stds 4.6.3; 2010 ADA Stds 502.4).

  • Parking: The designated van accessible parking space was not located on the shortest accessible route to the accessible entrance (1991 ADA Stds 4.6.2; 2010 ADA Stds 208.3.1).

  • Drop-off: The surface slope in the vehicle pull-up space is not level in all directions and exceeds the maximum slope allowed of 1:48 (1991 ADA Stds 4.6.6; ADA Stds 503.4).

  • Drop-off & Sidewalks & Walkways: The access aisle of the designated accessible vehicle pull-up space and the walkway to the entrance contain gravel and do not provide stable, firm, and slip resistant surfaces (1991 ADA Stds 4.5.1; 2010 ADA Stds 302.1, 503.4).

  • Sidewalks & Walkways: The temporary curb ramp slope is greater than 1:12 (1991 ADA Stds 4.7.2, 4.8.2; 2010 ADA Stds 405.2, 406.1).

  • Sidewalks & Walkways: The temporary curb ramp used as the designated accessible route to the entrance is not at least 36 inches wide (1991 ADA Stds 4.7.3; 2010 ADA Stds 405.5).

  • Building Entrance: The pull side of the entrance door does not provide at least 18 inches clearance to the side of the latch for at least 60 inches of depth (1991 ADA Stds 4.13.6, Fig. 25; 2010 ADA Stds 404.2.4).

  • Building Entrance: The area in front of the exterior, alternate entrance contains no level landing (1991 ADA Stds 4.5.2, 4.13.6; 2010 ADA Stds 305.2, 404.2.4.4).

  • Building Entrance: The raised threshold at the exterior entrance exceeds 1/2 inch (1991 ADA Stds 4.13.8; 2010 ADA Stds 404.2.5).

  • Hallways & Corridors: The pedestrian route is not free of abrupt level changes over 1/2 inch (1991 ADA Stds 4.3.8, 4.5.2; 2010 ADA Stds 303, 403.4).

  • Hallways & Corridors: The interior door cannot be opened with 5 pounds of force or less (1991 ADA Stds 4.13.11; 2010 ADA Stds 404.2.9).

  • Elevator: The elevator lacks audible signals in the hallways to indicate arrival and direction of elevator car (1991 ADA Stds 4.10.4; 2010 ADA Stds 407.2.2.1).

  • Elevator: The elevator lacks visual and audible signals within the elevator car to indicate the position of the car (1991 ADA Stds 4.10.13; 2010 ADA Stds 407.4.8).

  • Parking: The surface slope in the designated accessible parking space is not level in all directions and exceeds the maximum slope allowed of 1:48 (1991 ADA Stds 4.6.3; 2010 ADA Stds 502.4).

  • Parking: The designated van accessible parking space was not located on the shortest accessible route to the accessible entrance (1991 ADA Stds 4.6.2; 2010 ADA Stds 208.3.1).

  • Sidewalks & Walkways: The accessible route from the parking lot to the entrance is not free of abrupt level changes over 1/2 inch (1991 ADA Stds 4.3.8, 4.5.2; 2010 ADA Stds 303 and 403.4).
