Brailling Printed Materials
To locate a resource to transcribe printed materials into hardcopy Braille, call local organizations that serve people who are blind or have low vision, independent living centers, or state vocational rehabilitation agencies. Most states also have at least one library for people who are blind, which should be able to suggest organizations that can format and emboss Braille.
There is a significant variation in price and quality for producing materials in Braille, depending on turnaround time and the capacity of the providing organization. Most Braille production operations accept source material in electronic format (email attachment) or work from a computer disk. Brailling from printed material is uncommon.
